For decades, the interventions of the US and Israel have done nothing but deliberately plunge Iranians into deeper misery. Let us be absolutely clear: they never came to our rescue, and they have been the root of the problem from the very beginning. By strangling our nation under the heaviest sanctions for over 40 years, they have systematically crushed the spine of the Iranian middle class. For over 70 years, they have co-opted and interfered in every organic grassroots movement, deliberately making the terrain impossible for genuine local activists and actively ruining any chances for true reform.
Our historical memory is long, and we have not forgotten the 1953 Coup orchestrated by the CIA and MI6 to overthrow our democracy. And we will never forget how Mossad infiltrated the peaceful protests of January 8 and 9, 2026 (demonstrations meant to demand economic solutions), only to turn the streets of Iran into a bloodbath, deliberately setting the theatrical stage for their upcoming bombardments.
As an Iranian who has breathed the air of my homeland for over 30 years, I am intimately aware of the deep flaws in my country’s governance. I know my people’s struggles, and I know the urgent demands that the current regime should have addressed years ago. However, my eyes are equally open to the billions in investments that imperialism has poured into our borders to sabotage us, spread fabricated information, and systematically murder any lingering hopes for positive change in our country.
Consider just one glaring example of this engineered reality: in August 2010, The Guardian published a front-page exclusive interview with Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, a woman sentenced to death by stoning in Iran for adultery. That story rightfully provoked deep sorrow and furious anger both inside and outside of the country, sparking global reactions and intense diplomatic posturing by Western governments. But now, 16 years later, former Guardian reporter Saeed Kamali Dehghan has publicly admitted that his 2010 exclusive interview was entirely fabricated. We know the truth today, but the devastating psychological impact they calculated for has already been inflicted. Even now, if you search for this case, the algorithm feeds you the lies of 2010 rather than the reality of its fabrication.
Over the past year alone, amid the volatile circumstances unfolding in Iran, we have seen countless similar fabrications deployed as weapons to manufacture rage, fracture Iranian unity, and slap dangerous labels on our citizens. This insidious, long-term agenda has been aggressively put into action by the Pahlavi cult, a US-Israeli backed syndicate led by the remnants of the former monarchist regime, who have dedicated themselves to attacking everyday Iranians and sabotaging Iranian protests both inside and outside the country. They specifically hunt and target left-leaning communities, nursing an ancient grudge against the leftist activists who valiantly opposed the Pahlavi dynasty’s subservience to the US, which ultimately ignited the 1979 revolution.
This cult has intentionally bred a toxic, binary ideology: they demand that every Iranian is either a Pahlavi supporter (a friend) or an Islamic Republic supporter (a foe). By forcing this false dichotomy, they have manufactured an atmosphere of absolute horror, turning people against their own neighbors and explicitly encouraging “friends” to kill “foes” as a twisted form of revenge against the current government.
We must completely strip away the illusion that US backing of “human rights” in foreign nations is anything more than a theatrical performance dictated entirely by their geopolitical ties and economic interests. If they truly cared, why are human rights in a Syria ruled by former Al-Qaeda and ISIS factions no longer an issue? Why are they suddenly so indifferent to what the Taliban is doing in Afghanistan? Why is there a deafening silence regarding women’s rights in the allied Arab states of our region?
Standing as a shield for our country against the boots of imperialists who explicitly threaten to grind a whole civilization to dust is the fundamental duty of every nation, and this absolutely does not equate to endorsing its government.
There is no such thing as a “regime’s flag” or “regime infrastructure.” These are the sacred assets of our nation. Every single inch of Iranian soil belongs to its citizens. Every bridge, every industry, and every drop of resources belongs to the people.
I ask you to look inward: what would you do if your homeland and your own families were targeted by illegal bombardment? Wouldn’t you fiercely demonstrate solidarity with your country? If a foreign power threatened to wipe out and decimate absolutely everything in the country you call home, would you hesitate for even a single second to raise your flag and defend your land?
